University of Shanghai and Wenzhou Medical College Multicentre Trial

Retreating with Periowave™ generates statistically and clinically superior outcomes

This third trial compared three protocols and was carried out at two centres in China. Data from 105 largely de novo patients showed that treatment with adjunctive Periowave™ therapy produced significant increases in clinical attachment level (CAL) gain (p<0.005) and pocket depth (PD) reduction (p<0.0001) over SRP alone in all patients treated, whether 1 or 2 treatments were employed. Periowave™ retreatment was demonstrated to produce significantly enhanced outcomes compared to a SRP in this largely de novo population. No device-related adverse events were reported, confirming the safety of the retreatment protocol.
